Philip is an actor and moonlights as a food blogger on www.pipsdish.co.uk. Formerly a BBC Producer he also researched and edited various books on whisky and he has written for a number of publications including Taste of Scotland and Scotland the Best.

As an ex-cook and waiter he places simplicity and flavour above fuss and pretention. Having moved back to London after living in Scotland for many years, he misses Clark Brothers fishmongers in Musselburgh but relishes Sunday afternoons on the pavement at Jones Dairy in Bethnal Green, eating bread and oysters. He swears by Fergus Henderson’s Nose to Tail approach to food and cooking (though don’t always try it at home). Favourite flavour cheat: chop garlic large and toast it.
