FoodLovers Approved businesses will
- Deliver superior taste and eating experience
- Use real, fresh ingredients – no more than you would find in a FoodLovers kitchen
- Source locally or regionally
- Farm responsibly with care and consideration for the livestock and environment
- Make a positive contribution to the local community
- Keep staff well informed of their products and a pride in their craft
Where possible, FoodLovers Approved businesses will also
- Use recipes that reflect local and seasonal distinctiveness
- Practise craft techniques
- Farm or grow or process traditional breeds and varieties
- Practise the RSPCA’s Freedom Food’s Animal Welfare Standards as a minimum
Enforcing FoodLovers Approved standards
FoodLovers gather information from telephone interviews and
site visits. The Approval process also includes a
detailed questionnaire, product tastings and random spot checks.
