Cooking a haggis, no matter how fearsome it looks, is a terribly easy process if you roast it. And it means that there's no danger of it bursting as so often happens if you boil it.
Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/gas mark 4. Wrap your haggis in foil and bake it in the oven for about 45 minutes per 450g (1lb). When cooked, remove the foil and transfer to a plate. Serve accompanied by 'neeps and tatties', remembering the whisky and bagpipes (a CD perhaps) for the full Scottish effect
