Use about 450-500g potatoes per person. The British Potato Council suggest using King Edwards, Maris Pipers or Sante for the perfect chunky chips.

450-500g potatoes per person
2-3 tbsp sunflower oil
1-2 tsp chilli or curry powder (optional)
Sea salt
Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/gas mark 6.
Scrub the potatoes. You can leave the skins on for more texture if you wish. Sprinkle with the chilli or curry powder if using and coat in sunflower oil. Spread evenly on a baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes, turning at least once until golden brown. Sprinkle with sea salt and serve immediately.
