How do I join up to take advantage of the new membership tiers?
If you are already FoodLovers Approved and have a free membership – then fill in the form choosing your membership level and email, post or fax it to us with payment. You will be able to take advantages of all the benefits immediately after we have received payment. Over the following few weeks, we will issue you with an Approval Form that we will ask you to fill in the details and return to ensure you are maintaining your quality standards. If there are reasons for not granting you Approved status, we will work with you to try and solve them. If we are unable to continue with your Approval status, we will refund your membership payment less a handling fee of £30+vat

If you have been FoodLovers Approved since October 2010 and have already paid a registration fee, you are automatically eligible for Bronze level membership with all its advantages. Don’t worry about the difference in the fees - it is our gift to you for 2011. If you want to benefit from a Silver or Gold membership – this is easily done. If you don’t have the forms, just get in touch with us and you can upgrade on the phone. Payment will be calculated on the remaining months until your annual registration is due.

If you are applying to Be Approved for the first time, please fill in all the forms, giving details of the membership level you wish to sign up to and send them back with samples and payment and we will process your membership.  If there are any reasons for not granting you Approved status, we will work with you to try and solve them but if we prove unsuccessful, we will refund your membership payment less a handling fee of £30+vat

Can I change tiers anytime?
Yes - but only in an upward direction. If you initially joined, say, as a Bronze member and now want to take advantage of the Gold benefits, you can upgrade immediately on the phone. Payment will be calculated deducting the remaining months of current membership level – so you won’t pay twice. If you want to downgrade your level of membership services, this can only happen at the time of your annual registration.

Will I have to renew my FoodLovers Approval status every year?
Yes. In the past, we may have been criticised in that our members to join up, are FoodLovers Approved and then are allowed them to stay on – whatever changes happen in their business and to the products. In order to give FoodLovers Approved deeper meaning and to build the consumers’ confidence in FoodLovers Approved status, we are introducing annual self certification. This will ensure standards are maintained – essential if we to ensure credibility in the scheme and to help you market, promote, build and grow your business.

Can I re-apply if my business fails to be FoodLovers Approved?
Yes. We will have let you know why we were unable to grant you FoodLovers Approved status. Provided you have taken steps to make any necessary changes recognising our concerns, we will be happy to welcome you into the fold.

What PR campaign is FoodLovers planning?
FoodLovers is launching with a targeted press campaign aimed initially at the Trade Press. It will present the criteria for FoodLovers Approved and raise awareness of the umbrella brand and its benefits for the Approved businesses. A targeted consumer press campaign will follow shortly. 

How can I join in the PR Campaign?
No doubt the press will be looking for case histories from FoodLovers Approved businesses – so once you have joined up, we will be happy to put your name forward. You can take also advantages of our press services when you book into any of the FoodLovers Approved areas at the fairs we attend, click here for details. If you join up as a Silver or Gold member, you will also be able to contribute to monthly Press Newsletter and have access, later this year, to FoodLovers Approved advertorials

What does the Welcome Pack Contain?
Whatever tier you join, you will get a welcome pack that includes your unique membership number, contacts and details for all your benefits and discounted services and “how to” forms to help you make the most of your membership

How do I gain access to take advantage of the Discounted Services & Benefits?
Once you have joined, you will receive your membership pack which will give you all the details and contacts for the benefits and offers available at the level of your membership. You can contact and deal with them directly but the FoodLovers team are always here to help. 

What happens if I choose not to register as a member?
Well, we would hope to persuade you to change your mind. Once you can see the great offers, benefits, value and advantages to being FoodLovers Approved, it seems that there can be no reason to refuse to sign up. However if you have made up your mind – and we would hate to loose you – there is nothing we can do. Any activities, features, fairs and exhibitions that you have already signed for or booked into will of course be honoured. Going forward, we will not be able to take further orders, renew or rebook unless you agree to our terms and eventually, we will remove your entry from our site.
