Brandy Carr Nurseries have grown rhubarb since 1870. During the '60s and 70's it was run by Norman Asquith who expanded the business extending it to over 150 acres, stocked with over 100 indoor and outdoor varieties. Now managed by his son Ben, they still grow over 100 varieties of culinary and ornamental rhubarb - including their own Brandy Carr Scarlet. Some can be ordered by mail order although most require a visit - hardly a hardship for any Food Lover. Ben also grows five varieties of traditional Yorkshire liquorice.
