Manor House Farm has probably the only traditional commercial cherry orchard in North West Kent.  Although we are only 10 minutes from Bluewater, 5 minutes from the M25 and 5 minutes from Ebbsfleet, our orchard is in a genuine rural location surrounded by cornfields and apple orchards, and we sell our whole crop at the gate and to local greengrocers and retailers.

The 10 acre orchard has been in existence for very many years (originally inter-planted with cooking apples) and as old trees die, they have been replaced with young trees, so that we have a good balance of trees of different ages.

We grow many of the recognised old and new varieties including Merchant, Sunburst, Colney. Hertford, Lappins, Sweetheart, and the older varieties, Van, Merton Glory, Bradbourne Blacks, Early Rivers, Roundels, Gaucher, Bigarreau, Napoleon, Florence, Ohio, Noir de Guben and several others.

Tom Irvine is in charge of the orchard and his wife, Beverley runs the stall which as well as the cherries, sells a variety of local produce including our own apple juice and honey made from hives kept on the farm.

We started picking on June 17th and for a real taste of a traditional English summer do pay us a visit.  If you come once, you will certainly come again! Do remember the English cherry season is a short one - only 6 weeks - but we grow such a range of varieties that there will always be something ready to pick.
