Jefferson's Seafoods sell fresh fish – whole and filleted into portions – and seafood caught locally off the Cornish coast and landed at Looe harbour as well as Irish farmed seabass, salmon and trout.
All their salmon comes from Freedom Food approved farms and is sold fresh as whole fish, fillets or steaks, smoked in Scotland or turned into fishcakes, apparently one of their bestsellers. All Jefferson’s range of filleted fish, seafood salads, kebabs and fishcakes are prepared at their site in East Looe.
Generously sized, the fishcakes and crab cakes come in such grown-up flavours as Salmon & Pesto and Smoky Fish & Chorizo. They contain between 60-90% fresh fish and are easily frozen to make a good standby. Prepared seafood includes dressed crab, scallop mornay and wonderfully colourful monkfish and prawn kebabs that are great for a barbecue. The smaller portioned, colourfully presented ‘children’s meals’ include John Dory goujons and breaded monkfish nuggets, though any adult would be just as happy to sit down with a plate of these.
They sell fish fillets to the London restaurant trade and online via their website with a next day delivery service provided orders by 10am the previous morning.
