We are a RSPCA Freedom foods approved free range pig farm situated in East Devon.
For the last fourteen years we have successfully been rearing pigs, the last eight of which has seen us branch out into our own range of award winning pork and bacon products.
We also use our pigs for our very popular Hog Roasts – for more information on these please see the hog roast page.
I hope you enjoy our new website.

Kenniford Farm Shop:
Kenniford Farm shop opened in 2000 originally just to be an outlet to sell our own pork products. Since then it has grown greatly and last May we opened our new extension.
Our ethos remains the same though, to sell great tasting local produce. We try to stock only local produce from within Devon Cornwall and Dorset and the food miles travelled are displayed by the products in the shop.
Please see our suppliers page for a comprehensive list.
WE ONLY SELL FREE RANGE MEAT & EGGS
Kenniford Meat:
Our Sausages, pork and bacon all come from our own herd of free range pigs.
The pigs are all monitered under the RSPCA freedom foods scheme to ensure that they have access to the ‘five freedoms’
* Freedom & Hunger
* Fear & Distress
* Pain, injury & Disease
* Discomfort
* Allowed to exhibit natural behaviour
We use Clarksons master butchers of Ottery St Mary to produce our award winning sausages and meat.
Our Sausages are a minimum of 70% meat and only natural casings are used. We use only the good quality cuts from the carcass so you wont find any gristle or less savoury ‘bits’ that you may find in some lower quality brands.
As testement to this our sausages won 2 gold awards in the 2007 Taste of The West Awards with our very popular Pork & Apple burgers also winning a silver.
The pigs are sent to a local abbatoir, they have a short journey to endure and because they go early in the morning they have no waiting at the other end. This greatly reduces any stress to the pigs and results in better tasting pork.
Hog Roasts:
Our Hog Roasting Business started 8 years ago in 2000 when I got married. We borrowed a machine and cooked one of our pigs. Everyone thought it was delicious, shortly after we did a friends fortieth and from this small scale start we have built up a thriving and very popular side to the farm. We now do Hog Roasts all over the West Country and further afield.
Over the last 8 years we have done well over 1000 hog roasts and have gained a reputation for producing excellent food and service.
We have provided hog roasts for all manor of events from Christenings and Weddings to large corporate fun days and launch parties.
We pride ourselves on ease of convenience and can cater from 80 to a few 1000. We can provide various options and prices accordingly from DIY to a full three course sit down meal.
Whichever you choose though you can be sure that you will be giving your guests a delicious but ‘happy’ pig with full traceability and provenance back to our own farm served by our small team of experienced and enthusiastic staff.
