Cookery Course | Wine Tasting Course

La Cucina Caldesi in Marylebone, the only Italian cookery school in central London, offers an exciting range of Italian-themed food and wine courses for all levels of cooking competence, as well as children’s activities and tailor-made classes.  All courses take place in La Cucina Caldesi’s comfortable studio kitchen and are hosted by the school’s owners, Giancarlo and Katie Caldesi, alongside influential Italian chefs and writers or those who are simply passionate and knowledgeable about Italy.

The aim of all courses is to teach people how to cook, thus giving them life-skills that they can benefit from forever. The best way to learn is to be involved, so courses are very hands-on, offering plenty of opportunities to taste dishes during the preparation – usually over a glass of wine, or two!

News from La Cucina...
We are delighted to welcome Patricia Michelson and her renowned ‘La Fromagerie’ – said to be one of the best cheese shops in England’ – for two very special evenings this summer.

Friday 15th August, Italian wine & cheese tasting (6.30–8.30pm, £65 per person) led by Patricia, together with Italian wine expert Luisa Welch, who will be taking participants through a lively tutored tasting of various Italian wines and cheeses.

Friday 12th September (6.30 - 10pm, £130 per person) a seasonal gourmet evening which will begin with a welcome by Giancarlo Caldesi and Patricia, over a glass of chilled Prosecco, before going on to cover the preparation of a three course meal featuring Italian cheeses carefully selected by Patricia.  The menu will have a strong Tuscan flavour.  Featured cheeses, again all Italian, will likely be more mature and stronger – perhaps a selection of aged Pecorino’s.

Throughout the evening, Patricia will be leading a tasting and explanation of the cheeses, whilst Giancarlo will be passing on tips and tricks of the culinary world. The evening will end with the class enjoying the meal, accompanied by specially chosen Italian wines.
