EVENING COURSES AT LEITHS
This year we have introduced a new series of evening courses at Leiths; these hands-on courses are held on weekday evenings for beginners or more experienced cooks. If time is always an issue the ‘Simple Suppers’ and ‘Effortless Entertaining’ courses are ideal.
For school leavers, new adventures await and many will be cooking for themselves for the first time. Leiths ‘Absolute Beginners Class’ teaches basic skills over the course of a week to help introduce, skills and recipes to those new to the kitchen. Alternatively the Leiths ‘Essential Certificate’, held over 4 weeks, covers all areas of cookery.
For those wishing to improve their cooking skills, the ‘Cooking with Confidence’ series provides inspirational recipes with plenty of kitchen know-how. Should you want to focus on a specific area of cookery our four part fish course and another dedicated to pastry will banish any hesitation in tackling these popular subjects.
DRINKS CLASSESOr if you are keen on developing your palate our evening drinks classes may be the answer. We are lucky enough to have two professional MW’s taking the classes. Nancy Gilchrist MW, will take you through Matching Food With Wine or taste and assess 6 Champagnes with Richard Bampfield MW and Champagne Ambassador 2009. These classes also make fantastic gifts if you are looking for an original present to give. Come along to our informal tasting courses to learn the essentials of the appreciation of wine and other drinks. Evening drinks classes run from 7pm to 9pm. www.leiths.com
NEW CHILDRENS CLASSES AT AT LEITHS
Leiths School of Food and Wine, has just launched a new range of children’s classes ranging from feeding toddlers and babies up to baking classes with children aged 8 and over. These classes compliment Leiths popular teenager’s class and their 18+ courses Leiths Absolute Beginners Class and Leiths Essential Certificate.
Knowing what to feed your baby or toddler can be a bit of minefield, with conflicting advice in various books. To help with this Leiths will be hosting two classes with Vicki Scott, from the New Baby Company, who will be able to answer any questions or doubts parents may having on feeding their baby or toddler. There are two classes available; the first dealing with weaning and starting babies on solids; the second focusing on feeding older babies and toddlers who may have become fussy eaters.
Opening hours: Mon-Fri 9.00 - 17.00 | Sat 10.00 - 13.00 | Leiths School of Food and Wine is open 9am - 5pm Monday To Friday and it is open 10am - 1pm on Saturdays; when classes are running.
