Ouse Valley Foods was formed, in her kitchen, during 2004 by Julian Warrender. Due to its success, Julian moved her business, in August 2006, to a bespoke unit in Plumpton Green, East Sussex.  Ouse Valley Foods’ current, very impressive, range of over 160 products includes: jellies, fruit curds, sweet marmalades, jams and conserves, chutneys, chutney sauces, pickles and savoury marmalades, relishes, fresh cakes, wheat and gluten-free cakes, meringues, fresh sauces, pestos and tapenade.  

Over the last three years Ouse Valley Foods has won 7 Awards in the Great Taste Competitions.  The two awards in 2008 were for the Greengage Conserve and the Lemon, Honey & Cardamom Curd.  The freshly made Pesto is a best seller.  We continue to expand the range of fresh products including Hummus in various flavours (Roast Red Pepper & Red Kidney Bean is a favourite), Salsa and seasonal products such as Brandy Butter at Christmas time and Asparagus Soup in late Spring, etc.

The jellies remain the centrepiece of Ouse Valley Foods. Julian has perfected a method for making crystal-clear jellies, the ingredients magically suspended within their bright jewel-like coloured set using a fruit stock made from Bramley apples. They are amazing to look at and even more delectable to taste.

“Of paramount importance is the hand prepared aspect of our products. As far as possible, we use a variety of locally grown as well as foraged produce. Only small batches are made at any one time. We use no artificial additives and a minimum of 50% fruit or vegetables, together with our own unique blends of herbs and spices, in all of our recipes."
