Market Stall | Nursery | Orchard
We grow cherries at three different sites on the Kent/ East Sussex border. Our orchard at Northiam, in East Sussex, is where you can rent one of the trees for £30 for the year and come and enjoy the delights of picking your own cherries when they are ripe in the summer. We also have a stall here on the junction where New Road meets the A28 which is there throughout July.
Our other two orchards are in Sandhurst, Kent. One of these orchards is picked solely to supply Sainsbury’s through a Co-operative called Berry Gardens – so look out for Downgate farm on the packaging of any cherries you buy from Sainsbury’s this summer!
Our other orchard at Sandhurst is picked purely for the local market and we have a stall outside the orchard every day for 6 weeks from the start of picking towards end of June until the end of July. This orchard is on the A268 right next to the turning for Iden Green so if you want to purchase the most flavoursome and delicious cherries you have ever eaten, then come and find us. We set our standards extremely high and only pick the cherries when they are fully ripened so that each and every cherry is a truly mouth watering experience. We also have an area for you to pull into the orchard and enjoy a picnic if you wish, so what are you waiting for?
From this orchard we also supply most of the local farm shops and the local Jempson’s and Budgen’s superstores. We also travel to farmer’s markets and you will find us at Tunbridge Wells on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month and Penshurst Farmer’s market on the 1st Saturday of each month. On Sunday’s you will find us at the London farmer’s market in South Kensington.
Where ever you are in the south, there really is no excuse not to be able to come and find us and try the best cherries you will ever have eaten……
