Stratta use succulent soft fruits, savoury herbs, spicy aromatics, single estate extra virgin olive oils, organically grown citrus fruits all offer their individual perfections in providing perfectly balanced combinations. Sweet fruit vinegars, rare flower vinegars, fruit balsamics, infused olive oils, salt preserved lemons, spiced fruits, fruit ‘chuckles’...and the list goes on.
Traditional recipes, such as the ever popular redcurrant vinegar, have been researched and recreated. Melds of traditional and modern have been developed – witness our mango and cranberry ‘chuckle’ range. Experiments have led to wondrous new products, for example the ‘Smoky Moroccan’ oil and we have responded to ideas and requests from our customers in the creation of new lines. A ready-made dressing with sweet lavender vinegar and chilli oil called ‘Lavilli’ being just one example. There seems no limit to our capacity for discovery, invention and the quest for fabulous flavours.
And new for CherryAid - look out for Morello Cherry Vinegar and Balsamic Vinegar with Cherries, both made from locally-sourced British cherries.
We produce this award winning range of delights from our home in East Sussex, taking great care in sourcing our ingredients, locally wherever possible, and can provide full information on any of the products in our range.
Mary launched Stratta in the summer of 2004. A lifelong interest in the creation of delicious produce for family and friends using fruits, flowers and herbs now became the centre of her world. Such was the positive reaction of those who sampled the growing range on offer at Farmers’ Markets and Fine Food Fairs in the South East that it became clear that one person alone could not meet the demand. In the summer of 2005, John stepped out of his career in the University of Brighton to join Mary in the exciting venture.
Together – a formidable force with creativity and exuberance, boundless enthusiasm, a real love of good food, a spirit of adventure leading to innovation and experimentation in the kitchen, and perhaps more than a hint of eccentricity. What a recipe!!
The calendar on our website lists all the Farmers’ Markets, including Battle Abbey Green Farmers Market, Food Festivals and events where you can meet us and, more importantly, taste our delights!
