Cookery Course

A TASTE OF CHRISTMAS
Sunday 7 December 2008, 3-6pm

As with all TASTE cookery workshops, the emphasis will be on delicious simplicity. There'll be plenty of classic Christmas goodies (some with a new twist), for a reaxed planned-ahead Christmas dinner with all the frills: cranberry sauce, bread sauce, stuffing, genuinely delicious sprouts, cruncy roast potatoes, turkey tips, brandy butter and a Christmas pudding to take home. It's easier than you think and a gift at £65.

Essential TASTE is an eye-opening series of cookery workshops adapted for busy, modern lives to show you how to turn ‘food as fuel’ into something more nurturing and pleasurable.  Quickly.

Classes are small and informal so there’s lots of hands-on experience. And as doing is the best way to learn, you’ll chop, stir and taste your way to getting a feel for real preparation and cooking times.  Then (the best bit) enjoy eating what you’ve cooked.

Learn to cook simply, without recipes.  By grasping some simple key methods – soups or stews, for example – you’ll be able to improvise and adapt to your heart’s delight. Understanding what works, and why, builds confidence and eliminates stress.  There’s no weighing or measuring.  Imprecision is key.

TASTE will demystify cooking, and eliminate fuss and frill to show how easy  creating delicious food can be.

Other TASTES:  Jennifer also runs TASTE Uni, a short snappy series created for students about to leave home and fend for themselves for the first time.  Bespoke workshops are available, as well as seasonal courses such as A TASTE of Summer or A TASTE of Christmas.

Jennifer Hicks runs TASTE cookery workshops, having previously worked in broadcasting and publishing.
