The Avenue Cookery School is a culinary treasure set in the leafy area of Putney, South West London. Originally set up as a cookery school for students wanting to learn vital skills between school and university, it has recently expanded to allow greater flexibility to corporate clients. It is run by its two directors and is well known for its friendly and informal approach which sets it apart from other cookery schools. Numbers in the kitchen are limited to14 to allow everyone to get fully involved.
Day Courses
The school offers a fully bespoke service to clients wanting to organise group cookery events. Recent corporate clients have included ITV and Pepsico , who have enjoyed tailor-made days for their staff. The Avenue have also worked extensively with charities to provide fund-raising events.
The Avenue offers either a hands-on cookery experience, or a demonstration, or a mixture of both. Times and menus can be adapted for your needs and abilities, and competitions organised to fully focus the team!

Weekly courses
The Avenue continues to run regular courses all year round for students of all ages. The most popular are those directed at Gap year students who attend courses ranging in length from one to four weeks, which aim not only to give culinary skills, but life skills also. The morning might be spent in the kitchen, but the afternoon could see groups tackling changing the wheel of a car, or honing first aid skills……. Certificated Chalet Courses are also available for those seeking Gap Year employment on the slopes.
