We're a bit different! The Cheese Shed is an online-only cheese shop devoted to the artisan cheese of the Westcountry, and we list over 100 different varieties. Most are from very small makers, and often hard to find if you live out of the region. In terms of the breadth of cheese we offer, and the flexibility of the service (you can order anything from a small wedge to a whole cheese), we believe there's nothing else like this online.
So we send out Blue Vinney, Black-Eyed Susan, Heligan and Hobbs Choice to cheese enthusiasts all over the country. And we do a few other things: there's a great range of gift boxes (flowers and chocolates being so last century) - packed in our gorgeous 'Posh Box' if you choose - and we put toegther the most amazing cheese celebration cakes. They're mainly for weddings, but you don't have to be getting married to have one!
The Cheese Shed is run by me, Ian, from the shed of the same name. But it's very much a collaboration with James Mann, whose family have run a dairy (now Mann's Delicatessen) in Bovey Tracey since 1829. We like to say it's a modern business - but one with deep roots.
