About us:
The Coffee Fairy buys delicious shade grown arabica beans directly from a group of 16 farmers who grow their coffee in a stunning cloud forest in the northern Nicaraguan mountains. The coffee is 100% ethical and has a deliciously smooth taste with chocolately undertones....no bitter after taste at all and pretty lovely with a biscuit!

The aim of the Coffee Fairy is to create educational bursaries
through the sale of the coffee, the more we sell the more kids can carry on with their secondary education. In short great tasting coffee with an ethical project ...coffee that helps you sleep at night!

What is a 'Coffee Plan'?
A coffee plan works in a similar way to a magazine subscription, but it tastes better and has ethical benefits! Sign up for a plan and each month a bag of freshly roasted coffee will be delivered straight to your door, your purchase will directly contribute to the education of the children who live there. Updates will be sent out detailing exactly how your purchase has helped with reports from the actual community the coffee comes from. Buy this as a gift and a special certificate will be sent to the recipient detailing how their gift is helping to spread the magic.

What does the coffee taste like?

This particular Central American coffee has a sweet, rich and balanced flavour with chocolate undertones and a smooth finish. These lucky Arabica beans are treated to optimum conditions in the northern Nicaraguan mountains; shade grown, a fantastic tropical climate and a height of 2088m above sea level all add to the beans five star treatment, with which, if they had any say in the matter, they would no doubt agree.

Award winning smooth Nicaraguan coffee with an exceptionally smooth finish. This unique and delicious arabica coffee grown in a cloud forest in the northern Nicaraguan mountains remained undiscovered until just over a year ago. Brought to the attention of a discerning panel of judges at Guild of Fine Foods - Great Taste Awards – it won an incredible two stars and an immediate fan base!

Following on from a recent (and brave!) presentation of the company in the style of The Dragon’s Den in front of four of the biggest food retailers at the Harrogate speciality food fair, an order has already been placed by The National Trust for the coffee to be stocked in their brand new farm shop in Surrey. Harrods and Harvey Nichols are also discussing where the Coffee Fairy will fit into their stores and how they may be able to help with the project.

A new addition to the Coffee Fairy family is a delicious darker roast to the mellower medium roast which has been so popular. The dark roast is just as smooth but with a stronger richer flavour. A perfect after dinner accompaniment or a wonderful way to kick start the day. The medium roast makes drinking coffee the joy it should be with delicious chocolate undertones and a velvety finish.

The Story:

The backdrop to the coffee is an incredible story of no middle men and one tiny company committed to providing extra resources and facilities in the schools as well as educational bursaries for the children in this coffee growing community. In addition to the work being carried out in Nicaragua regular presentations are given to schools and universities in this country with children over here given a real taste of what life is like for the children of the coffee farmers. The response has been overwhelming with university students looking to spend 6 months in Nicaragua on volunteer schemes organised through The Coffee Fairy.

Coffee that tastes fantastic and keeps on working even while you are drinking it? Can’t say fairer than that!
