Trehill Farm, at the south-westerly tip of Wales, is lies close to the sea. Here the land is fed by the sea-salt breezes and mists that cling to it and give the potatoes a special flavour. Varieties are selected for earliness as well as taste with planting in February and lifting towards the end of May - depending on the spring weather. What you get is a sweet-tasting new potato with a melt-in-the-mouth texture and a mild nuttiness that seems set fair to challenge the supremacy of the Jersey Royal.

A winner in the National Trust Fine Farm Produce Awards, these potatoes are a true delicacy and a taste of early summer.
